07.04.2021 - Swans of Balaton Lake.
Lake Balaton in Hungary - the largest fresh lake in Central Europe. North Lake of Balaton is a resort and a naturally protected area. There are several thousand families of the Mute Swans (Cygnus Olor) lives on the Balaton all year round. This type of swans have an orange beak with black knob at the base of bill. The males has more big knob than the females. The weight of adult males can reach 15 kg, and the wingspan - 2.4 m. In nature, the mute swans (Cygnus Olor) live up to 30 years. In the reeds on the shores of the Balaton lake, the mute swans are sitting on eggs in the nests and from the age of chicks are not afraid of people at all. On the shores of Lake Balaton, there is a special service for the protection and control over the swan population. Mute swan is one of the heaviest flying birds. For flying, he needs to run a few meters on water or land. The same as a plane. I love swans and often make photos of them and feed with vegetables , because nowhere I'm not met such a large number of manual swans in nature. I'm really swan lover!
